Center for Pregnancy Choices asking people to take a Walk for Life

It’s the first fundraiser ever for the Center for Pregnancy Choices and the Walk for Life will take place Saturday, September 13 starting on the east side of the Adams School Park.

Lacey Hagen, an advocate at the center, said the money raised will help fund diapers, clothing and other items needed when women come in who are facing an unexpected pregnancy. Hagen said there is no charge for participating in the walk.

“The way that we raise the money is we have what is called sponsored walkers,” Hagen explained. “These are just people who are committing to walk just one mile at the event on Saturday morning, the 13th of September.

“The funds are raised by the sponsored walkers taking brochures to their friends and families and saying, ‘hey, would you like to donate to the pregnancy center and I’ll walk in honor of the donation that you would like to give.'”

On KVNU’s Crosstalk program, Hagen said the mission of the center is to provide compassionate and confidential care and to offer such services as free pregnancy testing, abstinence education, guidance and encouragement along with parenting needs.

The Center for Pregnancy Choices is located at 90 North 100 East, Suite 140, in Logan. For more information call 752-1222.
