Local runners perform well at Bob Firhman Invitational in Boise (with photo gallery)

Over 3,500 runners from 130 different schools in eight different states competed at the Bob Firhman Invitational in Boise, Idaho. They competed in 14 different races.

There were some impressive valley winners. Mark Summers of Logan High took 9th place with a time of 16:34.7 in the Mens 5K Division I Varsity XC. Carlton Baird of West Side came in 2nd place with a time of 16:35.6 in the Mens 5K Division II Varsity XC. Mountain Crest’s Jayden Skidmore was 10th in the Mens 5K Junior Varisty Sec.2 XC.

The girls did well also. In the Womens 5K Junior Varsity Sec. 2 Mountain Crest’s Savannah Knight took 2nd – 12:22.7, Madison Cook was 3rd – 21:26.4 and 7th McKale Bladen 21:37.5. Mountain Crest won the Women’s 5K Div. I 1st Miranda O’Very 18:29.4, 3rd Kacie Labrum 19:17.5 and 4th Emily Liese 19:24.7. In Women’s 5K Div. II Preston”s Billie Hatch took 5th with 19:46.7 and Aunika Crowther 7th at 19:52.8.

The highlight for Cache Valley schools is Conner Mantz of Sky View High School who won the Mens 5K Elite XC with a time of 14:51.3.
