Home sustains extensive damage in fire

LOGAN — A home near 273 West 240 North was severally damaged after a Tuesday afternoon fire.

Logan City Fire Deputy Chief Craig Humphreys said when crews arrived they found flames through the roof above a two car garage. The fire department began extinguishing the fire from the outside until it was safe to enter and extinguish the remaining fire.

The fire was reported at 4:37 p.m. by a neighbor that could see smoke coming from the garage.

Logan City Police report no one was in the home at the time of the fire.

Humphreys said the home sustained extensive heat and smoke damage, estimated at $100,000. Wednesday, investigators will try and determine the cause of the fire.
