Raysha’s Run highlighted successful 2014 Cache County Fair and Rodeo

Another successful Cache County Fair and Rodeo was reported to the Cache County Council Tuesday by County Clerk and Fair Director Jill Zollinger. She said expenses totaled $219,190 this year and revenues were $242,512.

Zollinger said she was pleased about the success of the new 5K run honoring Raysha Gladfelder Nelson who was killed in a snowmobile accident last winter. Raysha had spearheaded a competition referred to as “the race to cure breast cancer.”

Zollinger said the run brought in $15,000 and Raysha’s father Richard Gladfelder thanked everyone for the support.

“The clowns came over and asked if they could be a part of it as well,” Gladfelder told the Cache County Council Tuesday. “It just went really, really well.

“I know my daughter would be super, super proud that we came together and helped others and did what she set out to do.”

Rodeo Chairman Lamont Poulsen reported that ticket sales for the rodeo this year totaled $89,494 and the number of sponsors was up.
