Bail reduced for man charged in DUI vehicle-pedistrian accident

Jerry Goodridge, 27, arrested on an initial charge of driving under the influence, a third-degree felony, after hitting a jogger, Tuesday morning with his vehicle.

LOGAN — A judge has reduced the bail for a 27-year-old Smithfield man, accused of driving under the influence and hitting a jogger with his car.

Jerry Goodridge continued his initial appearance in 1st District Court Monday. He is charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and possession or use of a controlled substance, both third-degree felonies.

Judge Brandon Maynard lowered Goodridge’s bail from $10,000 to $5,000 and ordered him to appear again in court November 3.

Goodridge is charged with hitting 33-year-old Jeffrey Oar Tuesday morning, while Oar was jogging on 200 West in Smithfield.

Oar was transported by ambulance to Logan Regional Hospital. He was later flown to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray.

Police officer Brandon Muir said Goodridge was tested after the accident and found to be under the influence of drugs. He was booked into the Cache County Jail.
