Provo man pleads guilty to sex abuse of a child

LOGAN — A 24-year-old Provo man has pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual abuse of a teenager and could face three years-to-life in prison when sentenced.

Kolby J. Falor appeared in 1st District Court Monday accepting a plea deal. He was arrested in June and charged with sodomy on a child, a first-degree felony and nine counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, all third-degree felonies. He <span>was booked into the Cache County Jail and later released, after posting a $55,000 bail.</span>

Under conditions of the plea deal, Falor pleaded guilty to an amended charge of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony and three charges of unlawful sexual activity with a minor. The other charges were dropped.

State Attorney Barbara Lachmar said when Falor was 20-years-old, he engaged in oral sex with a teenage boy. The victim was between 13 and 14 at the time of the abuse. The accusations occurred between January 2011 and December 2012.

Sentencing has been scheduled for January 6.
