Nibley man sentenced to prison for downloading child pornography

Justin Rex Isaacson, 25, sentenced to one to 15 years in prison for sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.

LOGAN — A 25-year-old Nibley man was sentenced to prison Monday, for viewing child pornography after also exposing himself at a public swimming pool.

Justin Rex Isaacson appeared in 1st District Court, after pleading guilty in October to sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.

Judge Kevin Allen sentenced Isaacson to one to 15 years in prison.

Prosecutors asked the court for a harsher sentence, noting that Isaacson was previously arrested for exposing himself at the Mountain Crest High School pool.

State prosecutor Spencer Walsh said Isaacson had walked out of the pool dressing room naked and began swimming while others were in the pool.

In September, Isaacson was arrested for downloading child pornography. He was originally charged with four felony counts but later had three dropped, when he accepted a plea deal.

A pre-sentence report, done by Adult Probation and Parole had recommended the court sentence Isaacson to jail and counseling.

Walsh argued for a prison sentence in light of both arrests.

Isaacson told the court he knew he had a severe problem and needed help.

Judge Allen told Isaacson his actions showed he had a deeper problem and he needs help.
