LOGAN — A 45-year-old Wellsville man, accused of raping and sodomizing an underage girl has waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

Ray Reeder appeared in 1st District Court Tuesday afternoon. His defense attorney told the court they had been in talks with state prosecutors and were working on a possible plea agreement.

At the time of the arrest, Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Peterson said a female teenager told a school councilor how Reeder had raped her. The councilor notified the sheriff’s office and Division of Child and Family Services, who investigated.
