Nibley accepting applications for city council vacancy

NIBLEY – After serving three years on the city council, Carrie Cook is moving out of Nibley. Cook’s departure leaves a vacancy on the city council which will be filled after a public meeting January 29 at 6:30 p.m.

Those interested in filling in the vacant position can submit an application to City Manager David Zook by January 20 at 12 p.m. The applications can be found on the city’s website. According to Zook, as of December 27 no applications had been submitted.

“The remaining council members will interview the applicants in a public meeting and then vote to select a replacement,” Zook said in an email.

Whoever appointed will serve a one-year term. The position will open up for election during the next municipal elections.
