LOGAN — A 40-year-old man was arrested Monday accused of sexually abusing a teenage girl.

Logan City Police Captain Tyson Budge said Michael Getz was arrested and booked into the Cache County Jail. He is being held on four initial offenses of sexual abuse of a child and sodomy of a child, both first-degree felonies along with dealing harmful material to a minor, a third-degree felony and lewdness involving a child, a class A misdemeanor. Bail has been set at $100,000.

Budge said the abuse allegedly occurred multiple times over the past year. The 13-year-old girl reported the abuse to her mother who contacted police. After investigating, officers telephoned Getz, who confessed and turned himself in.

He is expected to be formally arraigned in 1st District Court later this week.
