It’s something everyone could benefit from and Esterlee Molyneux, executive director of the Child and Family Support Center, says a workshop on Building Healthy Relationships will be conducted Wednesday, February 18 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Hyrum center, located at 10 North 600 East in Hyrum.
The facilitator will be Dr. Diane Calloway-Graham, professor of Social Work at Utah State University and therapist at the Child and Family Support Center. Calloway-Graham says she will be defining healthy relationships, communication skills, boundary setting and also conflict resolution.
“I think conflict resolution is important because I think it’s a skill,” she explains. “In any kind of a relationship, we come to it with a different world view. Sometimes we might be in conflict about how we see something or how we want to solve a problem or do something. It’s important to understand how to negotiate.”
Calloway-Graham says learning constructive ways to resolve conflict will help strengthen relationships.
Free child care will be provided for children ages 11 and under during the workshop for those who need it. For more information call 752-8880.
