LOGAN — A Thursday morning accident at the Millville high school construction site sent a worker to the hospital with severe injuries.
Cache County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Matt Bilodeau said the 39-year-old Ogden man was working with a steel beam when it shifted, pinning the man’s leg below the knee against a concrete wall.
Deputies were first on the scene and initiated first aid. They reported the leg was partially amputated and placed a tourniquet above the injury. Once EMS arrived, deputies and construction crews helped remove the beam and free the man.
Bilodeau said the man was transported to Logan Regional Hospital. His identity has not been released.
The man was later transferred to McKay Dee Hospital by ambulance.
The accident was reported at approximately 7:30 a.m.
