Michael Lee Oviatt was born on January 4, 1980 in Logan, Utah to Mike and Sheralyn Hall Oviatt.
Michael was 13 days old when he was diagnosed with spinal meningitis which left him severely handicapped.
Michael’s 35 years taught us unconditional love, compassion, and tolerance for those less fortunate.
Since Michael was 5, he was cared for by Topham’s Tiny Tots in Orem. He went to school in the Alpine School District and graduated in 2002.
He is survived by his parents Mike and Sheralyn Oviatt of Providence, 3 sisters, Lesley (James) Hamilton of Logan, Heather (Dane) Jackson of Herriman, and Kristen (Mike) Auga of Clarkston, 6 nieces, 2 grandmothers, Ruth Hall and Colene Oviatt, a special aunt, Wilma Hall as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was greeted in heaven by our Savior and a loving Heavenly Father, also by his grandfathers, Lester Oviatt and Edward (Ted) Hall.
The family would like to thank all those who have given many countless hours of service on his behalf, Topham’s Tiny Tots, Lorraine and Karen Topham as well as all the nurses and doctors who have provided care to Michael.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to gofundme.com/n9ky88 to help defray funeral expenses, or to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nyman Funeral Home. On Monday, March 2, there will be a private family viewing at Nyman Funeral Home prior to a graveside service, which begins at 1:00 pm at the Wellsville Cemetery.
