Transit district receives recognition for keeping riders safe

Once again the Cache Valley Transit District has been recognized for excellence in leadership and operational effectiveness. The Utah Local Governments Trust, the district’s transportation insurance partner, recently attended a CVTD board meeting to award a check in the sum of $4,818.

The check was a recognition to the transit district for completing the Trust Accountability Program. CVTD general manager Todd Beutler says successful completion of the program is to support efforts to improve results in safety and loss prevention.

He said the real reward comes in the injuries and accidents that did not happen, and thus thousands of dollars are saved in damages.

“It’s always good to be recognized, especially when it concerns safety. That’s something that the transit district is very committed to. Every employee is very focused on providing safe transportation to the citizens that we serve. We’re grateful for the recognition.”

The Trust Accountability Program is just one in a list of more than eight national and regional recognitions that CVTD has received, including being named as having the highest overall rating among all transit systems in Utah.
