Missing West Valley man found dead near Clarkston

Kerry William Nay,43, found dead Wednesday evening in the middle of a field, south-east of Clarkston.

LOGAN — A 43-year-old West Valley City man was found dead near Clarkston Wednesday evening.

Cache County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Matt Bilodeau said Kerry William Nay was found dead in the middle of a field, south-east of Clarkston. A farmer, who was reportedly checking his cattle, located the body and called sheriff’s deputies.

West Valley City Police report Nay had been missing since Sunday and was last seen driving a green Chevy Blazer. He was on medication and likely didn’t have access to it.

Bilodeau said Nay’s body showed no cause of death and is not considered suspicious at this time. Initial theories are he could have died from a medical episode, exposure or other cause.

The Chevy Blazer was found by Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies Wednesday morning and will now help deputies piece together what Nay was doing in the area.

Bilodeau said he did not know if Nay had any family in the area.

The Cache County Sheriff’s Office will continue to investigate.
