SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Officials are continuing the search for a missing boater who hasn’t been seen since Sunday in the Great Salt Lake’s Willard Bay.
Family members notified authorities about 8:30 p.m. Sunday that a man in his mid-40s who had been out fishing all day did not return home.
By about 10 p.m., the man’s empty fishing boat with gear still inside was found near the south end of the bay, about 100 feet offshore.
The Utah State Park and Box Elder County Search and Rescue crews have been looking for the man in the water and on land.
The man’s identity has not been released.
