UPDATE: The Doggie Olympics have been rescheduled to June 13

It’s a family event for kids, dogs and adults. The annual Doggie Olympics is coming up on Saturday, June 13th starting at 1 p.m. at the Cache County Fairgrounds. It’s a fundraiser for Four Paws Rescue and the Cache Humane Society and everyone’s invited to enter.

On KVNU’s For the People program Tuesday, Mary Connor of Four Paws Rescue said it’s always a fun and funny event.

She said Olympic events include Musical Chairs, Dog Frisbee, an owner-dog look alike contest and a lot more.

”One we added this year was Doggie Dress-up Runway where everybody’s going to get five minutes,” Connor explained. “We have piles of clothes, costumes and other accoutrements that you can pick and dress up your dog however you want.

”Then every contestant is going to walk down a red carpet runway which will be photographed at the end and the judges will judge on the best dog of each round.”

Connor said there will be food along with the fun. Leashed, friendly, vaccinated dogs are welcome.
