When he ran for office last fall Cache County Executive Craig Buttars said one of his priorities was to make improvements to the Cache County Fairgrounds. Now Buttars says he hopes to get started on that goal.
“We’ve got some RAPZ tax funding for the engineering and for the design for a new building that would replace the old Home Arts Building,” Buttars says. “So we’re looking at that, trying to move forward and see how much that would cost, see the feasibility there.
“Then we’ll have to work out the funding. In the long term, I’m hoping within the next two to three years we can get started on the project at the fairgrounds.”
Buttars has said he would like to make improvements to the point that the Cache County Fairgrounds are used for a variety of activities on a daily basis, not just for a few major events such as the county fair.
