Richmond man pleads guilty to string of trailer thefts

Kurtis Joe Konkright, 52, arrested Friday April 17, 2015, in connection with a string of trailer thefts.

LOGAN — A 52-year-old Richmond man has pleaded guilty to several recent trailer thefts and will now wait to be sentenced.

Court records show Kurtis J. Konkright appeared in 1st District Court Monday afternoon. After waiving his right to a preliminary hearing, he accepted a plea deal from prosecutors, pleading guilty to two counts of theft by receiving stolen property, a third-degree felony. As part of the plea, four remaining charges were dismissed.

In April, Cache County Sheriff’s deputies and SWAT teams surround Konkright’s home and arrested him.

After the arrest, Lt. Mike Peterson said investigators received a tip that Konkright was linked to the stolen trailers and the valuables inside them.

Konkright remains in the Cache County Jail. He’s scheduled to be sentenced July 27 and could face up to five-years in prison.
