Summerfest a good place to find gifts for dad

A lot of activity is going on at the Logan Tabernacle grounds this weekend for the three-day Summerfest Arts Faire. The popular event opens at 11 a.m. Thursday and continues through Saturday with more than 150 artists from all over the country there to showcase their work.

Summerfest Director Elaine Thatcher says there is also top-notch entertainment, great food and she says you will probably find some wonderful gift ideas.

“It’s Father’s Day weekend and if your dad likes art, we have everything from wildlife art to metal sculptures that you can put outdoors,” says Thatcher. “We have things that appeal to men. We have customized pens that people make.

“You might be able to find your dad a Father’s Day gift while you’re there.”

Thatcher says Thursday’s main stage performers are The Scotsmen at 11 a.m., Darkwood Trio at 12 noon, Hoodoo at 2 p.m., Better Off With the Blues at 4 p.m., Mary Kaye Trio at 6 p.m. and Chance McKinney at 8.

During that same period the Acoustic Stage will feature Rowdy Machine, Four Seasons Theatre, Nick Manning, Where the Rowdy Things Are and Down Yonder.
