Head-on collision in Logan Canyon kills one person and injures others

LOGAN — A two-vehicle accident Friday night in Logan Canyon killed a woman from Kaysville and injured six others.

The head-on collision occurred near Beaver Creek, mile post 483, and was reported around 8:45 p.m.

Utah Highway Patrol reports a northbound Subaru drifted into the southbound lane, striking a southbound green Suburban.

The driver of the Subaru was killed in the collision. Her name has not been released, pending notification of family.

The green Suburban was carrying six people, some of whom had to be extricated from the vehicle.

The accident completely blocked both lanes, backing up traffic for three-to-four miles.

The driver of the Suburban was flown by helicopter to a Salt Lake area hospital. The other five passengers were transported to local Logan hospitals in stable condition.

The crash is under investigation.
