Utah’s largest cycling fundraising event coming up next weekend in Cache Valley

This last week it was the Ragnar Relay Wasatch Back that came through Logan and Cache Valley. Next weekend it will be the 2015 MS 150 bike ride that begins at the Cache County Fairgrounds.

Gary Saxton, Logan Downtown Manager, says the two-day event is Utah’s largest cycling fundraising event with more than 2,500 cyclists participating.

Saxton says day one starts at 7 a.m. at the fairgrounds Saturday and day two begins at the same time on Sunday.

“There’s a couple of ride options that they start here in Logan. A lot of people camp at the county fairgrounds. There is a ride Saturday and there is a ride Sunday. Some people ride 150 miles, some people ride less than that.”

The course heads north towards Idaho and is relatively flat. For those up to the challenge, an additional 20-50 miles are available on day two as it goes up Blacksmith Fork Canyon. The ride raised at least $1.5 million annually for multiple sclerosis.
