Local cook wins national competition for use of essential oils

Casey Hansen of Providence recently won a nationwide cooking contest that required the use of essential oils. Her winning recipe has been published in an international magazine which is available this month.

“They challenged us to use one of four specific oils in a recipe then post a picture and your name and they would choose a winner,” said Hansen.

“My winning recipe was a breakfast quiche and instead of spending a lot of money on organic spices in this recipe I used three drops of thyme oil and one drop of rosemary. It is pennies compared to dollars in cost.”

The five winning entries in the competition are featured in DoTerra Living Magazine and can be seen at the magazine’s web site.
