It all started in 1982 with a group of five people working together to organize the first Cache Valley Cruise-In. It has grown each year and attracts almost 1,000 vehicles, including street rods, street machines, customs, restored vehicles and more.
The event coming up July 2nd through July 4th is hosted by the Cache Valley Cruising Association, a group of local families with something in common: their love of vehicles.
Association President John Rutledge says the headquarters are at the Cache County Fairgrounds and he hopes a lot of people will visit the grounds during the Cruise-In.
“We have all sorts of vendors and food vendors and all the old cars,” Rutledge explains. “One of the things we have is a sock hop on Friday night. That has been real popular.”
Rutledge says tickets to the Cruise-In cost just $5 and they are good for three days. A ticket gives the owner a chance on the giveaway car and the drawing will be Saturday at 6 p.m. After that the Cruise-In winds up with the always-popular Cruise-In Parade down Logan’s Main Street at approximately 6:30 p.m.
