Needle’s CTO Honored by Utah Business Magazine

<p dir=”ltr”><span>Needle, a customer experience (CX) and e-commerce development company, was honored by</span> <span>Utah Business Magazine</span><span>(</span><span>UBM</span><span>) in its June issue.</span></p><p dir=”ltr”><a href=””><span>Business Wire</span></a> <span>reports that on June 30th, Needle’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and co-founder Mikko Valimaki was named by</span> <span>UBM</span> <span>as one of its “CXO of the Year” honorees. Valimaki and 16 other senior executives were honored by the magazine for their work in “driving Utah’s economy.”</span></p><p dir=”ltr”><span>Needle is based just outside of Salt Lake City.</span></p><p dir=”ltr”><span>”This recognition proves what I’ve known for years: Mikko is one of Utah’s go-to people when it comes to scalable technology,” said Needle CEO Morgan Lynch. “He is highly sought after for his expertise by venture capitalists and corporations alike. A lot of CEOs lose sleep over their technology. I don’t. He is simply one of the best.”</span></p><p dir=”ltr”><span>Valimaki has over 25 years of experience in several avenues of the technology field. He has served as a coder, a vice president of engineering, and in his current position as Needle’s CTO. Valimaki focused on building strategic customer experience platforms for e-commerce purposes when he and Lynch founded Needle in 2010. More recently, he is concentrating his efforts on future technology innovation and promoting company culture.</span></p><p dir=”ltr”><span>”It’s an honor and a privilege to be recognized as one of the CXOs making a difference in the state of Utah,” Valimaki said. “I’m a technologist at heart, and I love to build technology solutions…but it’s the interaction with the people I work with that I cherish most.”</span></p><p dir=”ltr”><span>The CXO of the Year award is given to several senior executives in Utah every year from a variety of small, medium, and large businesses as well as public and government agencies who “demonstrate the importance of providing strong financial leadership, visionary innovation as well as social responsibility to Utah businesses.” This year’s honorees are featured in the June issue of</span> <span>UBM</span><span>.</span></p><p dir=”ltr”><span>E-commerce solutions are critically important in businesses in Utah and, really, across the country. Approximately</span> <a href=””><span>$1.1 trillion</span></a> <span>of all retail sales in 2011, for example, were “web-influenced.”</span></p>
