A single-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon on I-15 killed two people from Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Utah Highway Patrol troopers report 84-year-old Thora B Willis was driving a Kia SUV traveling northbound, approximately two-miles north of Plymouth. Near milepost 394, the vehicle drifted into the median and continued traveling north without braking or swerving.
Troopers said when the vehicle reached an underpass it went airborne hitting the north-side of the underpass wall causing the vehicle to temporarily flip on its roof and then slide back down to the country road under the freeway.
Ronald P Willis was a passenger in the vehicle. The 88-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. Thora Willis was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Bear River Valley Hospital, where she later died.
Both occupants were wearing their seatbelt. Troopers believe the driver may have suffered a possible medical issue just before the accident
