SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A fire has destroyed what was left of Brigham City’s historic Baron Woolen Mills building, which was already heavily damaged from a 2014 fire.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1MD2wCU ) that firefighters were able to quickly douse the flames early Monday morning. But the mill was little more than a teetering wall by the time it was all over.

Public safety dispatchers say the fire was reported around 2 a.m. Firefighters were beginning to wrap up by the time the sun rose.

The Baron Woolen Mills was constructed in 1870 by Lorenzo Snow, who would go on to be president of the Mormon church. The James Baron family ran the mill for more than a century, selling it in 1988.

Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
