Logan City preparing for downtown concert on September 29

For some time Logan Mayor Craig Petersen and others in the city have been wanting to bring more people into downtown Logan. They have wanted people from both the community and from Utah State University. Now he says something will be happening to accomplish that.

“As part of that objective, then, we’ve partnered with Utah State University to have a downtown concert in the Emporium block,” Petersen explains. “That will be a week from Tuesday on September, 29.

“There will be a number of bands, some food trucks, we hope to have several thousand people there and have it be kind of a rocking time. It’s something we haven’t tried before but we’re anxious to partner with USU as part of their homecoming week.”

The mayor says the Parks and Recreation Department, under director Russ Akina, is now making final plans for the major event.
