Mountain Crest extends winning streak, defeating Weber 46-14

Homecoming was a success for Mountain Crest as they continued their winning ways Friday night beating Weber 46 to 14 in Hyrum.

Mountain Crest showed a commanding presence from the very beginning, putting Weber in their place on the first series with Cody Olsen snatching a pick-six. Weber responded with seconds remaining in the first on a spectacular over-the-top pass from Cameron Mortensen to Brevin Dean.

Mountain Crest owned the second and third quarters as quarterback Tanner Schwab threw for four touchdowns and even converted a two-point conversion that helped extend their lead 25 to 7 at the half.

Schwab finished the night with five touchdowns bringing his total to 20 on the year. That total gives Schawb the most touchdown passes in the state through the first five games.

The Mountain Crest defense added two interceptions from Kody Pope and Levani Damuni.

Mountain Crest continues to prove that they are a top 10 team in the state of Utah. Next week they will be on the road against former 4A and Region 5 foe Roy. Roy should be one of the stronger opponents that Mountain Crest has played this year with a record at 3-1 making for a good road challenge.
