LOGAN — A 71-year-old North Logan man is now facing charges in a vehicle/ATV accident that sent two boys to the hospital with serious injuries last summer.
Erin H. Milligan, is being charged with reckless endangerment, a class A misdemeanor and reckless driving, a class B misdemeanor. The charges were filed in 1st District Court Monday.
Milligan has been ordered to appear in court November 16 for arraignment.
The accident occurred July 30, just north of 3100 North and 1600 East in North Logan.
Four boys were riding the ATV, travelling north, when they came upon a Ford F-250 truck, driven by Milligan, travelling south. North Park Police initially reported both drivers apparently saw each other too late and took evasive action the same way, turning into the canal.
When emergency crews arrived on the scene, they found the ATV under the truck with one of the boys partially pinned underneath. He and one other boy were transported to Logan Regional Hospital with internal injuries, lacerations, scrapes and an ankle injury.
Both were later transported to Primary Children’s Medical Center, one by Air-Med helicopter.
After the accident, the families of the boys asked for an additional investigation. An investigator with the Utah Highway Patrol interviewed the boys and Milligan further.
