Nibley, Hyrum, Providence and Wellsville gear up for elections

Many communities in Cache Valley are preparing for Election Day, which falls on November 3 this year. Millville cancelled its election, but the neighboring cities of Wellsville, Hyrum, Nibley and Providence are all getting ready for the big day. All of the mentioned cities except Providence will hold traditional elections. Providence will be using the mail-in ballot system.

In Wellsville there will be three open seats on the city council. Glenna Petersen, Carl Latham and Gary Bates’ terms are all coming to an end. Latham and Bates are both running for reelection and will be joined on the candidate list by Mary Ann Degn, Tom Maughan and Alan Sorensen.

There are also three open seats in Hyrum. Martin Felix and Aaron Woolstenhulme will be running for reelection and will be joined by Kathy Bingham, Steve Adams, Michelle Jensen and Craig Rasmussen.

In Nibley, Larry Anhder, Larry Jacobsen, Tim Ramirez, Malia Roundy, Allen Cook and Tom Bernhardt will be running to fill three open spots. Jacobsen is the only incumbent. Bernhardt is currently serving on the city council after filling a vacancy left by Amber Whitaker last November.
