The dancing is lovely but spine-tingling and you will find the music scary when the Cache Valley Civic Ballet performs the perennial popular Dracula in the Ellen Eccles Theatre. The ballet is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, October 23rd and 24th, according to Sandy Emile, founder and artistic director of the company.
Emile says Dracula is a favorite at Halloween time and this year something new has been added.
“We have brought forth some of the history of the Ellen Eccles Theatre and we are inviting people to tour the theater in less-than-a-well-lit situation,” Emile says. “You’ll go down into the dark areas of the theater, into the green room, and you will hear stories about times gone by when people have shown up missing and when strange things have gone literally bump in the night in the theater.
“We go all through the theater and it will make you feel and think very differently about the Ellen Eccles Theatre.”
Each performance starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are available online or at the theater. The show is not recommended for children under the age of five years old.
