The Utah Legislature will be back in session in just a little over a month, with the opening scheduled for January 25th. One issue many people hope to see resolved is that of Medicaid expansion.
One local state representative, Jack Draxler, R-District 3, says he is not sure whether or not it will be coming up although he realizes a lot of people would like it to be addressed. Draxler says he would personally like to see a bill approved, providing it did two things.
”If it addressed the coverage gap that currently exists in Medicaid expansion under Obamacare,” Draxler says, “and if it didn’t jeopardize the future budget of the state, those are the two keys for me.”
Draxler says all three of the proposals that have come up have addressed those two questions but there was not a majority in the House to get any of them approved.
