Logan man accused of attempted murder asks for jury trial

Odilon F. Castulo-Guzman, 41, accused of attempted murder, a first-degree felony and two charges of obstructing justice, both second-degree felonies.

LOGAN — A 41-year-old Logan man, Odilon F. Castulo-Guzman, accused of attempted murder for allegedly stabbing a man during a fight last fall is asking for a jury trial.

According to deputies, Castulo-Guzman stabbed a 51-year-old Franklin, Idaho man during a fight in Amalga on October 14. The altercation was reported around 8:15 p.m. near 2350 West 6550 North at Sugar Park. The victim was taken by ambulance to Logan Regional Hospital with a stab wound to the chest.

The defendant was charged with attempted murder, a first-degree felony and two charges of obstructing justice, both second-degree felonies. He was arrested and booked into the Cache County Jail and later released after posting $40,000 bail.

The trial is scheduled to begin March 18.
