It started a year ago and it’s been such a success they’re bringing it back. The Stokes Nature Center’s “Canyon Jams” series returns Saturday evening, January 23rd at the center in the mouth of Logan Canyon.
To kick off the 2nd season they welcome the return of the band that was their first featured artists when they started the monthly music series, Hectic Hobo. The seven-member band is originally from the Salt Lake area and describe their music ‘wild west gypsy rock’ and feature accompaniment with the accordion, banjo, piano, harmonica and more.
Erin Anzalone, director of education for the center, told KVNU last summer why they decided to do a music series.
“(The series) started in hopes of trying to draw a bigger and different audience to the Nature Center. So we decided, what better than live music. It brings people of all types, all ages out to Stokes. And he hoped that if they come for our shows that they will have an interest in taking part in some of our other programs,” Anzalone explained.
The concert begins at 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 8 p.m. Ticket information can be found at www.logannature.org or by calling the center at (435) 755-3239.
