Most people are well aware of the location of the Logan Library but many people are not even aware that there is also a Cache County Library. It is located at 15 North Main in Providence and Library Director Cheri Mickelson says the facility also serves as the River Heights-Providence Branch Library and also as the Bookmobile Center.
Mickelson presented her annual report to the Cache County Council Tuesday and she said the library had 25,313 visits in 2015 and that is more than 2,000 visits per month.
“We had 90 children programs with 1,809 people coming to those. These included our weekly story time and our summer reading events,” Mickelson explained. “We had 1,319 who came in to use our computers. Approximately 180 came in to use our WiFi system.”
Mickelson also explained that the library was used for testing and saw a high circulation amount.
“We proctored tests for 52 different college students and three high school students. The library circulated a total of 41,462 items, which is almost equal to the total number circulated by the Bookmobile.”
When asked if a larger place is needed, Mickelson said she feels it is adequate at the present time.
