The Family Place experiencing growth in Cache Valley

The Cache County Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a proclamation designating April as “Child Abuse Prevention Month.”

As Executive Director of The Family Place (formerly known as Child and Family Support Center), Esterlee Molyneux has announced several different activities aimed at educating the public about child abuse and what can be done to reduce the problem in Cache Valley.

Molyneux says The Family Place has experienced a great deal of growth since last year’s designation.

“We are in the process of building a new facility which should be done in June of this year,” an excited Molyneux exclaims. “Our wonderful location that we’ve had on 1400 North for the past 30 or so years, we will be relocating to that new building.

“Last November, November 2015, we opened up an additional office in Hyrum, Utah. We were honored to call it the Norma Miller The Family Place. We have served over 200 families out there already.”

She says some services are also going on at their Smithfield location, too.

Molyneux says among the events being held during the month are the Steppin’ Up for Children event on April 13 and a free seminar for parents and professionals on April 14.
