Logan man pleads guilty to molesting two teenage girls

LOGAN — A 21-year-old Logan man has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting two underage girls and will now await sentencing.

Marshall T. Hedin appeared in 1st District Court Monday morning on two charges of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, both third degree felonies.

State attorney Barbara Lachmar said the defendant, on two different occasions molested the victims, groping their breasts. Both were reportedly underage and unable to consent. The assaults took place in September 2014 and May 2015.

As part of a plea deal, Hedin pleaded guilty Monday to both charges, under the condition that they both be reduced to class A misdemeanors. The plea deal will keep the victims from having to testify during a trial.

Judge Thomas Willmore ordered Hedin to undergo a psycho-sexual evaluation in preparation for sentencing, scheduled for June 7.
