LOGAN – After walking on to play basketball at Utah State, last year’s redshirt freshman forward Quinn Taylor was awarded a scholarship by head coach Tim Duryea.

Taylor redshirted during the 2012-13 season before serving an LDS mission. Last year he appeared in 30 of the Aggies’ 31 games and started 12 times. His 63.8 percent shooting led the team. He averaged 3.7 rebounds per game.

A video posted to the USU basketball team’s social media accounts Thursday shows Duryea addressing the basketball team in the Wayne Estes Center and announcing the scholarship offer.

“He came back this year, walked on again, and obviously did a great job this year,” Duryea said in the video. “He exceeded everybody’s expectations and just played a phenomenal role for our team and so I wanted you guys to know and him to know that next year he has earned a scholarship.”

Taylor will have three years of eligibility left.
