Donald Trump’s negative comments about immigrants has been upsetting to local Latinos according to Danny Beus, outreach director for the Cache County Democratic Party’s Latino Caucus.
Beus says at least it is making a lot of young people more anxious to cast a vote, even if they have not done it before.
“Yeah, they are definitely paying attention,” says Beus. “The people I associate with are very anti-Trump. They are turning out to vote. We are getting more Latinos registered to vote. We are getting more people interested in politics because of Donald Trump.”
Beus says one concern is that voter education will be different this year in Cache County where people will not got to the polls but instead will be voting by mail.
