Activities for everyone at Richmond’s Black and White Days

Last year was the centennial year and the 101st annual Black and White Days celebration is underway again in Richmond. Events continue all week through Saturday.

General Chairman Jeff Young says the opening event Tuesday was the Cattle Show and the famous Richmond Heritage Cattle Sale is Thursday at 6 p.m. There will be daylong activities on Saturday starting with a chuckwagon breakfast and the Cow-A-Bunga race at 10 a.m.

The Black and White Days parade starts Saturday at 5 p.m. and Young says the Grand Marshalls will be current members of the Cattle Committee. The same committee started Black and White Days in 1915 and members of that committee meet every month.

“They still do that,” says Young. “That’s their meeting time. They have done a fantastic job. That is how they originally started Black and White Days.”

A horse pull takes place Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Richmond Fairgrounds. Young invites everyone in Cache Valley and beyond to visit his community during Black and White Days this week. For a full list of events taking place at Black and White Days, click here.
