Creative changes coming to this year’s Summerfest

Three weeks from today the popular three-day Summerfest Art Fair opens on the grounds of the Logan Tabernacle. Executive Director Elaine Thatcher says it is going to be an exciting time for those who visit and those who participate as well.

Thatcher says 137 artists are planning to be there but there will be one noticeable change. She says the Logan School District, which has previously sponsored the art yard, will not be able to do so this year.

However, she says there is something new which everyone should enjoy.

“It’s pretty exciting. We have renamed it the Creation Station so it is no longer the Family Art Yard. We want both adults and children to feel comfortable there. It will include everything from painting, to theater games, to dance movement and music, just all kinds of creative activities that people of all ages can get involved in.”

Thatcher says she has called on the experience of several local arts experts to help re-envision this space and some wonderful activities are planned for the Creation Station.
