Beloved characters will take the stage for 2016 Lyric Repertory Company

Some of the most beloved characters of all time will be taking to the stage during the 2016 season of the Lyric Repertory Company, which opens on Thursday, June 9 and continues through Saturday, August 6 at the Caine Lyric Theatre in downtown Logan.

Co-director Dennis Hassan, of the Utah State University College of the Arts, says there are four exciting shows, some Cache Valley residents have seen before and others that have never been here.

Hassan says one of those is the well-loved “Singing in the Rain” which is the third show of the season, opening on June 23.

“It’s fantastic,” Hassan happily exclaims. “Most of you know the movie; it’s a lot of fun. It’s one of my favorite musicals.

“It was a movie to begin with and then it was made into a play just a few years ago. Now we are able to produce it. We’ll have the rain, we’ll have the great people, great actors, singers from all over the country.”

The other offerings are “Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery”, “Arsenic and Old Lace”, and “You Can’t Take it With You”.

Hassan says everyone is invited to take advantage of the four Dinner Discussions where people can enjoy dinner with the actors, directors and/or designers at the Riverwoods Conference Center prior to the opening curtain of each show. All dinners begin at 4:30 p.m. Tickets and additional information is available through their website.
