Road construction on Valley View Highway expected to begin any day

A corridor study identifying improvements on State Road 30 has been completed by the Utah Department of Transportation. The results were explained to the Cache County Council last week.

Council members plan to carefully review the information that was presented. While there last Tuesday, UDOT Region One Project Manager Rod Terry told the council a project will be starting any day now that will impact drivers in Cache County.

He referred to passing lanes on SR 30, also known as the Valley View Highway, westbound to the Collinston area in Box Elder County.

“You will lose your passing lane opportunities when that happens,” Terry explained. “So be aware that’s happening. It’s a great thing when we get done.

“We encourage everyone’s patience when we get through this construction season while we’re building that. Then, of course, we’ll do something on SR 30 farther to the west.”

Council members will be discussing the corridor study again at a later meeting.
