Search and Rescue called to help injured hunter

Cache County Search and Rescue teams were called out to help a 26-year-old Logan man who was hurt while hunting Monday morning in the Wellsville Mountains.

Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Brian Locke said Jake Jones was hunting west of Mendon, near Cold Water Lake, when he re-injured his leg that had recently been broken.

Jones was able to call family members who were able to use ATV’s to find him. He was in so much pain they were unable to transport him out of the area.

Locke said EMTs from Logan Fire along with First Responders from Mendon and Search and Rescue were able to locate Jones and transport him to an ambulance. He was taken to Logan Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
