Governor on primary election swing in Cache Valley

Governor Gary Herbert visited Cache Valley on Tuesday and took some time to stop by KVNU and sit down with For The People host Jason Williams. He mentioned one of the reasons he’s here during this busy primary season.

“We’re always excited about economic opportunity and economic expansion. It’s the key to our quality of life and so we’re just meeting with some of the businesses, and a few other things here (that) we’re going to be doing,” the governor said. “Then we have to hustle back down to Salt Lake.”

Herbert is in a primary election for the first time as governor and being challenged by board chairman Jonathan Johnson. Herbert says it’s a situation where you “have to re-earn your spurs.”
