Logan City receiving multiple grants to help with Logan River restoration

Work is continuing on the Logan River Restoration Project. At Tuesday’s meeting of the Logan City Council, Public Works Director Mark Nielsen gave an optimistic report. He said the work has been helped by a couple of nice grants.

“We were awarded two grants, one at Stewart Nature Park,” Nielsen explained to the council. “To help with that work it was $80,000 to combine with the money we’ve already got allocated to help with improvements on the river channel there.

“The other one is for the Rendezvous Park area. They gave us $497,000 to go with the other $900,000 that we have.”

Also at the meeting Nielsen received an award from the American Public Works Association.
