He knows it’s been a hassle for people the last two months, but Logan Mayor Craig Petersen had some good news about a major connection to the Island.
“I guess there’s probably not another street in Logan that might be as inconvenient to close as that one because there are just no quick alternatives,” he said.
“You either have to go way east or way to the west. However, the project is done and the dugway will be open as of 5 p.m. on Friday and people can resume their normal usage.”
On his monthly Speak to the Mayor hour during KVNU’s For the People show on Wednesday, Mayor Petersen said the project will replace the quite dangerous, very narrow path on the east side of the road and pedestrians will be able to use a wide sidewalk on the opposite side.
The city also connected a trail along the Boulevard. The mayor said he’s really pleased with how the project turned out. He said the dugway may have to close for half-a-day or so next week while a guard rail is put in.
