Traffic congestion expected during Top of Utah Marathon

LOGAN — Police are asking for the public’s help Saturday morning to reduce congestion during the Top of Utah Marathon. The race begins at Hardware Ranch, in Black Smith Fork Canyon, and ends at Merlin Olsen Park.

Logan City Police Lt. Rod Peterson said residents in the Island and Cliffside neighborhoods are being asked to use the Short Dugway or Canyon Road as alternate routes, instead of Center Street.

Traffic around Merlin Olsen Park will be crowded, especially on Main Street, 100, 200 and 300 East, between 300 South and Center Street. There will be officers directing traffic to help motorists and everyone is being asked to watch for runners and help keep them safe.
