Improvements of Valley View Highway to be discussed at upcoming meeting

It is a much-used highway and State Road 30, often referred to as the Valley View Highway, will be receiving some improvements in the future. According to Utah Department of Transportation spokesman Vic Saunders, the public is invited to attend an upcoming “scoping” meeting for the Environmental Impact Statement.

It will be held on Wednesday, September 28 from 4-7 p.m. at the Logan Environmental Center at 153 North 1400 West.

“This is a long term look at what this highway needs to have done for it that will improve transportation, that will improve perhaps biking and cycling and other transportation modes, as well as protect the environment as we look forward to the many years in the future.”

Saunders says the study area runs from 1000 West in Logan to SR-23 on SR-30. He says interested persons can drop in any time during the event to view displays and discuss them with the study team.

For more information about the study, contact UDOT project manager Rod Terry at (801) 620-1686.
